Donald Trump’s win in the Sunshine State is especially valuable because Florida is one of the first winner-take-all contests in the Republican race. He will walk away with all of the state’s 99 delegates. The state is something of a second home to the Manhattan-based mogul, as he has several luxury golf resorts there and also owns the exclusive Mar-a-Lago retreat in Palm Beach. Trump has 45% of the vote so far, beating Marco Rubio by 18 points.
Marco Rubio dropped out of the presidential race after losing his home state of Florida to Donald Trump. He warned his party not to play on people’s frustrations.
Trump is currently also leading in Illinois at 42%, Missouri at 36%, North Carolina at 39%, and is in second in Ohio 35%.
